"Banging on a 2900"
11-01-08
The boiler barrel interior was cleaned up and on Saturday, Dr. Mike's UT team went to work and got the gridding and the UT done in one day. That completes the measurements, except for the flue sheet crack inspection. The data will be sent to Wolf Fengler for the Form 4 calcs.
Additionally, we received approval on our RFQ response to Carlson Engineering to assist their Scanner in collecting dimensional and detail data on the 2926. This project may take up to four months and could generate significant dollars towards our restoration. It will also require a large expenditure of our time, up to five days a week. The contract should come to us mid month, and work should begin in February.
The first 10g's of the Richardson grant was billed out this week, and we hope to see that money arrive by the end of the year.
We also worked on the sander valves; they are in bad shape, and work was begun on the dog house for the compressor.
Next we will remove all of the flue and tube stubs so we can clean up the flue sheets for inspection.
Napa will start on the engine rebuild for the small forklift. It needs to be ready so repairs can be made to the large lift.
On Wednesday afternoon, a tour group will visit the site, and that could get us a few more bucks.
